Sealife & Aquadom Berlin needs medication
Mr. Hugo and me had a visit at the Berlin Sealife (www.sealife.de/local/index.php?loc=berlin) & Aquadom on Saturday. After he didn't actually liked the Museum of Natural History (except from the lousy fish tank with 3 stinky eels) I thought we likes the colorful living fishes better. And he did. Was hard to move him from one aquarium to the other cause he like staring at the fishes and tapping on the glas.
Unfortunately I noticed that a lot of the fishes suffered from some diseases. In the big round swarm tank there were a lot of fishes which had frayed fins and dirty gills. Same for some of the carps. And it even smelled like fish water in some areas which usually is a bad sign.
That's a pity that they seem to have problems with the health in the habitats. The Sealife is usually a great place to go with kids and even adults may find it very interesting to see all those creatures. I hope they manage to keep the population healthy and keep it and interesting place to go.
The entrance fee is pretty high (app. 17 EUR/adult and 11 EUR/kid) but if you plan to go more than once a year, consider getting a 12 month ticket. It's only a few EUR more and not as much as double normal tickets. Until the end of March there is even a special discount on those tickets. You can get them for the price of the normal entry.
